Autocue / Teleprompter : making life easier for on-camera presenters
Cameraperson / autocue operator’s view of autocue.
The presenter sees their script, scrolling upwards as they read it, on a monitor placed above the camera lens, or on a glass placed over the camera lens (mirroring a monitor).
The script is on our laptop, with an HDMI output to the monitor. It’s controlled by our autocue operator – or by someone on our client’s team, having had a 15 minute practice.
Autocue makes the presenter’s job much simpler because their script is scrolling at their reading speed – the operator is following them, not the other way around.
So the presenter appears to be looking straight into camera, and can take their time, resulting in a calm and authoritative delivery.
The pictures below, from our autocue shoots with clients around the world, show the operator’s and the presenter’s view.
