How to Take a Cervical Smear: Training video, CD & booklet

The aim of this project, available as a VHS video and booklet, or CD, is to help smear takers acquire the knowledge and skills to take good quality samples.

The 40 minute video, shot by our female production crew, includes actresses, health professionals and the views of ordinary women, and covers the process of taking a smear to show how effective sampling, and quality of the specimen submitted, are of crucial importance to the screening process.

The point is also made that of equal importance to understanding how to take a good quality sample is effective communication, which ensures that the procedure is as informative and comfortable as possible for the woman.
