Broadcaster and presentation trainer Michael Watkins has extraordinary insight into TV News presenting - and much broadcasting and teaching experience. Our popular ONE-TO-ONE training sessions cover:

• TV PSYCHOLOGY: getting your head round broadcasting: blotting out distractions, mental focus.
• THE QUALITIES REQUIRED: self belief, journalistic experience, passion for news and current affairs, ambition and more!
• READING AUTOCUE: the masters of this strange device use much more than simple reading ability, such as a true understanding of the story, the audience, the news process, solid journalistic experience and communication skills - as much as the machine itself. You'll gain unique insight, not offered elsewhere into the many pitfalls and necessary related skills of autocue reading.
• CAREER ADVICE & INDUSTRY INSIGHT: becoming a TV news presenter, tips on selling yourself, breaking into journalism, switching from radio or the press to news broadcasting, what it's really like working in a live news environment and newsroom.

You will receive a 2-3 minute DVD showreel demonstrating your new newsreading skills, edited with your audience in mind.


Would suit those inside or outside broadcasting/journalism hoping to make it as a TV News Presenter. One-to-one sessions are 3, 4 or 5 hrs, in our Chiswick offices, and are held to suit our clients - usually on Saturdays; we can train groups in Ealing Institute of Media's fully equipped, modern TV studio in West London. All courses include lights, camera, and autocue.
