I’ve just completed this new charity video for The Mulberry Centre -  a drop-in centre at the West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth, for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer to visit for information and support. An excellent charity; hopefully this video will encourage more people to visit.

Today we completed a 2 day shoot for Dignitana, manufacturers of Dignicap, a scalp cooling system that reduces hair loss for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Both patients, Charlotte and Bruce, delivered positive, clear accounts of their experience which will make editing the piece a pleasure.
The naterial is intended for broadcast, so we shot on our brand new Canon C100 camera, linked to an Atomos Ninja 2 recorder – recording ProRes files at up to 220 Mbits. The footage looks gorgeous!

Today was day 2 of a 3 day shoot for our client, healthcare publisher Elsevier.
They’re publishing the 4th edition of Leon Chaitow’s book – MET – Muscle Energy Techniques; Leon Chaitow is one of the worlds leading osteopaths and it’s been interesting to get a rare insight into his techniques, widely used to treat neuro muscular disorders – and physiological knowledge.
Leon’s voiceover audio has been recorded live, and our two camera set up has helped make the process fast and efficient.

Filming actors portraying Parkinson’s Disease symptoms

A very interesting studio shoot in Maidenhead today for Sage Healthcare, filming actors that we supplied, demonstrating different symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
The actors were coached by a specialist consultant and their performances made riveting and uncomfortable viewing – one’s heart goes out to those who suffer from Parkinson’s – but feedback about the drug that our video relates to sounds very encouraging; it seems a degree of normalcy can be restored.

Really pleased today with our lighting setup, filming more healthcare professionals describing their experiences of the use of Duodopa for Parkinson’s patients.
Today we used one of our KinoFlo Divas as key – simply the best daylight key I have ever used – with KinoFlo BarFly with 90 degree louvre and Lee 216 diffusion as fill, and the consulting room’s own spotlight as a backlight.
The set up brought the interviewee nicely away from the background – looked great.

Braving the chill winds and driving snow of Chiswick, we battled our way to the house we shoot many of our videos in that need a clean, fresh home environment.
Today’s shoot was to film additional material for a product training video explaining how to self inject Nplate from Amgen.

Hired by London agency Metia we’ve produced a webcast today in Bristol for Imprivata, an NHS supplier offering and demonstrating what looked like an immensely useful solution: single sign on access for NHS workers, as well as several security features enabled by Imprivata software.
We set up our 2 camera webcast solution with 3 overhead boom microphones for a rehearsal yesterday, so that the webcast was all ready to go this morning.
All went well and I’m uploading an on demand version to our server now.

Filming at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust… And Liverpool FC

Filming today at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust: we’re producing a “what to expect” video about a treatment for Crohn’s disease, for ICC Lowe, to inform children and their parents about what the infusion treatment entails.
We were lucky to have two extremely capable ‘stars’ – the ebullient Kay Crook as our healthcare professional whose Autocue reading, using our new iPad Autocue solution, was magnificent – and a confident and positive 10 year old patient who had us smiling and grateful all day.
Oh, and half way through our shoot some top players from Liverpool FC popped in distributing autographed gifts; Luis Suarez looked particularly nice in a Father Christmas hat.
