Bart’s shoot is wrapped

Four weeks of shooting are completed! It’s the longest continuous shoot we’ve ever undertaken – many thanks to David & Tamas (Director & Camera), Stephanie (work experience), the staff and actors and of course our client, Elsevier.
The BBC has been one of our most regular repeat clients since 1993; BBC World Service has just booked us to film and edit another Audience Research project, this time in Russia, filming in Nizhniy Novgorod and St Petersburg in September. The business visa process is a project in itself!
We’re currently fortunate to be in the production stage of a Clinical Skills training DVD here at Bart’s Hospital in London; we’re using the EX1 as Camera A, and the new JVC GY-HM100 as Camera B (for the first time). The tapeless workflow is fantastic – it enables us to easily organise our rushes for the 100 3-minute sequences we’re shooting, and our editor is able to collect the day’s clips on a hard drive and start editing right away.

Update: our editor, John Phillips, (an ex-BBC News editor) has taken a short break in Germany during editing. But he’s taken his MacBook Pro, and again thanks to our new tapeless workflow, is able to carry all the material on a portable drive and edit contentedly in his Black Forest hotel!
